In recognition of its high status in the field of cancer medicine, Osaka University Hospital was recognized by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare as a Designated Core Hospital for Cancer Genomic Medicine this past April.<\/p>\n<p>The project aims to create a basis for new genomic medicine<sup>\u203b2<\/sup> and diagnostics for cancer.<\/p>\n<p>The three organizations will be working together at the Osaka University Hospital Clinical Sequencing Laboratory. Thermo Fischer Scientific will provide its cancer gene panel<sup>\u203b3<\/sup>, the Oncomine Target Test<sup>\u203b4<\/sup>, which can detect multiple gene mutations in a single test from a single tissue sample, while Takara Bio will process the data from next generation sequencers<sup>\u203b5<\/sup>. Expert panel<sup>\u203b6 <\/sup>(specialized staff) at Osaka University Hospital will interpret the results.
