J.\u00a0Cancer, 2015)<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>SIRT4, which\u00a0is localized\u00a0in the mitochondria, is one of the least characterized members of the sirtuin family of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide?dependent enzymes that play key roles in multiple cellular processes such as metabolism, stress response and longevity.\u00a0In collaboration with\u00a0 the Department of Surgery, Osaka University (Profs. Masaki Mori and Yuichiro Doki) , Miyo et al.\u00a0studied\u00a0the significance of\u00a0SIRT4 in\u00a0human\u00a0colorectal cancer.\u00a0SIRT4 expression decreased with the progression of invasion and metastasis, and a low expression level of SIRT4 was correlated with a worse prognosis.
