Welcome to the Frontline of
Medical Research

Overview

See, touch, explore and read.

An open academic atmosphere and forward-looking thinking are at the core of the activities of the Faculty of Medicine at Osaka University.
The various materials on exhibit demonstrate the outcomes of our research.

  • Highlight01

Explore to find what you want to know

Perform a touchscreen search by category (e.g., body parts, disease names, researcher names, or specific keywords). Access the databases relevant to the study you wish to learn about.

  • Highlight02

    Know your body

Try using a force plate, a device used by athletes for training and physical rehabilitation. Do squats on the force plate to measure your leg strength and left/right power balance.

  • Highlight03

    Pharmaceutical drugs born from research

See an actual package of Tocilizumab, the rheumatoid arthritis drug that was discovered at Osaka University and is now used around the world. You can also see a real cornea sheet and cartilaginous tissue derived from human iPS cells, which are rarely on public display.

  • Highlight04

    Important publications for your perusal

Browse through a small collection of books written for general audiences by Tadamitsu Kishimoto and other researchers from the Graduate School of Medicine at Osaka University. Feel free to read them on site.
