AMPK is a stress response kinase which is activated by ATP consuming cellular conditions. In this process, AMPK plays an important role in the cellular polarity; however its molecular mechanism has been unknown.
In this work, we purified and identified the novel AMPK substrate CLIP-170 and revealed the physiological importance in cell polarity by AMPK-CLIP170 singling. These data clarified the novel stress response via the regulation of microtubule polymerization against energy consuming cellular conditions.
