(B) The same set of signal transduction pathways is generated, but other molecules affecting the signal transduction pathways are differently expressed in each target cell. (C) Contradictory signal pathways are simultaneously generated in a single target cell and the balance or interplay among them eventually determines the outcome. The variable combinations of these mechanisms determine the final outcome of the signaling.
