- Summary of this article：This study examined medical repatriation cases to a national tertiary hospital in Japan to explore health risks that continue after international travel. A retrospective review of repatriated patients revealed that many admissions were not for acute treatment but for coordination of care after returning to Japan, reflecting gaps in transitional care systems. In addition, multidrug-resistant organisms were frequently detected and sometimes delayed transfers to other facilities. These findings suggest that health risks associated with international travel extend beyond the travel period and highlight the need for integrated systems linking pre-travel health management with post-repatriation care.
- 論文の要約：本研究は、日本の三次医療機関における海外からの国際医療搬送症例を後方視的に分析し、帰国後に生じる医療上の課題を検討しました。入院患者の一部は急性期治療ではなく帰国後の医療調整を目的としており、移行期医療体制の不足が示唆されました。また多剤耐性菌の保菌が転院調整を困難にする場合も認められました。国際渡航の健康リスクは帰国後も継続し、渡航前対策と帰国後医療をつなぐ体制整備の必要性が示されました。
