To conduct a collaborative meeting on naked mole-rat research, we visited the Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research in Berlin, a key international partner in this project. We discussed our collaboration and future research directions, and Dr. Thomas Hildebrandt and Dr. Susanne Holtze introduced us to their naked mole-rat facility as well as their advanced equipment for wildlife research. We also participated in hands-on training for several experimental techniques for naked mole-rats. The Japanese participants included Profs. Miura and Hayashi, along with a female researcher and a female graduate student from Miura’s lab, as well as a male graduate student from Gifu University.
