We visited the Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research in Berlin, one of the international members of this research project. During the visit, Dr. Thomas Hildebrandt, a principal investigator in this project, introduced us to the facilities for preserving various mammalian cells and diagnosing wildlife. We discussed the results of our collaboration so far and future research directions. From the Japanese side, Profs. Ikawa, Shinohara, and Hayashi, along with six young (one male and five females) researchers, participated in the visit.
