Dec 2015 On behalf of the organizing committee and staff, we would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all participants for making “Conference on Transposition and Genome Engineering 2015 (TGE 2015)” a great success. TGE 2015 was a stimulating experience, which we hope helped to drive new friendships, new collaborations, and new avenues of research.

April 2014 The Department of Social and Environmental Medicine, to which the Takeda Laboratory belongs, was renamed as the “Department of Genome Biology”.

Oct 2013 Dr. Masahiro Tokunaga was appointed as Assistant Professor of Department of Environmental and Molecular Medicine at Graduate School of Medicine in Osaka University.

May 2013 Dr. Gen Kondoh, a former member of our laboratory, was appointed as Professor of Laboratory of Animal Experiments for Regeneration in Institute for Frontier Medical Sciences, Kyoto University.

April 2013 Dr. Tomo Kamitani was enrolled in the Ph.D. course in Graduate School of Medicine, Osaka University.

January 2013 Dr. Chikara Kokubu was appointed as Associate Professor of Department of Environmental and Molecular Medicine at Graduate School of Medicine in Osaka University.

January 2013 Associate Professor Dr. Kyoji Horie was appointed as Professor of Physiology II at Nara Medical University and moved there.

October 2012 Dr. Kosuke Yusa, a former member of our laboratory, was appointed as a member of the Sanger Institute Faculty(Principal Investigator).

August 2012 Dr. Vincent Keng, a former member of our laboratory, was appointed as Assistant Professor (Principal Investigator) at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

October 2011 Dr. Kyoji Horie and colleagues published a paper entitled: “A homozygous mutant embryonic stem cell bank applicable for phenotype-driven genetic screening.” in Nature Methods online, and released the “Homozygous ES cell database” .

July 2011 Dr. Masahiro Tokunaga joined our laboratory as a research scientist.

June 2011 Professor Junji Takeda was invited to give a talk in “International Conference on Genome Engineering 2011” hosted by Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology, Singapore.

April 2011 Mr. Xingya Xu was enrolled in the Ph.D. course in Graduate School of Medicine, Osaka University.

April 2011 Under reorganization of Center for Advanced Science and Innovation (CASI), the subdivision of Takeda Lab in CASI was integrated into the Department of Social and Environmental Medicine in Graduate School of Medicine, Osaka University.

April 2010 Mr. Xingya Xu joined our laboratory as a research scientist at Center for Advanced Science and Innovation in Osaka University.

March 2010 Dr. Yasuhide Yoshimura joined our laboratory as an assistant professor at Department of Social and Environmental Medicine in Graduate School of Medicine, Osaka University.

November 2009 Prof. Dr. Junji Takeda was invited to give a lecture in Wellcome Trust Advanced Course on “Genetic Manipulation of ES Cells” at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute.

November 2009 Ms. Sachiyo Tanaka joined our laboratory as a research scientist at Center for Advanced Science and Innovation in Osaka University.

November 2009 Dr. Chikara Kokubu was promoted to Research Associate Professor at Center for Advanced Science and Innovation in Osaka University.

August 2009 Associate Prof. Dr. Kyoji Horie joined the PRESTO “Understanding Life by iPS cells technology” program on his research proposal: “Analysis of the mechanisms involved in iPS cell generation by forward genetics”.

August 2009 Dr. Chikara Kokubu and colleagues published a paper entitled: “A transposon-based chromosomal engineering method to survey a large cis-regulatory landscape in mice.” in the August issue of Nature Genetics. The related article appeared in Nikkei Business Daily on 28 July, 2009. This paper was also selected for Faculty of 1000 Biology in September 2009.

July 2009 A research proposal “Establishment of human epidermal cell-derived iPS cells by transposon system and its application for treatment of intractable diseases” by Prof. Dr. Junji Takeda and collaborators was approved by Takeda Science Foundation 2009.
