New biomarkers and drug targets

Frustratingly, little is known about the causes of many neurological diseases and little is available in terms of treatment. In this course, we examine the pathology of several neurological diseases, the use of animal models to study the disease, and consider potential drug targets and biomarkers. This translational approach aims to connect preclinical research and clinical cure continually and highly exactly.

The Department will integrate the knowledge and technologies developed by researchers at the Graduate School of Medicine, Osaka University as academia, and Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma as pharmaceutical industry, and utilize the cutting-edge imaging systems owned by Osaka University. By so doing, the department will promote research and pursue the new value creation and innovative drug discovery.
