Department of Ethics and Data Management

This department supervises that the data stored in our twin registry is being stored and managed properly according to ethical guidelines.

Based on the ethical guidelines, related laws and various regulations, the department also oversees that the research activities at the Center are conducted reliably, ethically and with proper scientific rigor. By communicating with the lead scientists and accurately gathering and providing data, it contributes to our endeavor to constantly improve the quality of our research.

Department of Bio-resources

This department operates a biobank for storing anonymized human biosamples, that have been collected with consent from the donors in accordance with defined research objectives. The department also cooperates with joint-research partners by dispensing and providing them samples according to their scope of study. By providing samples with high added value, the department acts as an enabler to various research endeavors.

Department of Research Infrastructure

This department organizes and maintains the Center’s twin registry databank according to ethical guidelines. It also gathers research material for both the data and the biobank by reaching out to the Center’s community of twin volunteers. 

The collected data is anonymized and appropriately stored in the databank. The department also cooperates with joint research initiatives by compiling and providing datasets according to the stated research objectives of the studies.

Department of Research Promotion

This departments endeavors to further the progress of twin research by supporting both domestic and international joint research initiatives.

It coordinates and manages the use of the center’s data and bioresources in a research task based manner in lockstep with the Center’s research material gathering efforts.
