Stored data and samples

Below is a list of the data and sample types stored at the Center. At present (April 2020), we have completed the sampling of 437 pairs / 874 persons (81,3% monozygotic). Of these, 76 pairs / 152 persons (89,5% monozygotic) have also participated in a second round of sampling.

Data

  • Zygosity (mono/dizygosity): determined based on 15 locus STRs (Short tandem repeats)
  • Height, weight, grip strength, blood pressure, bone density (measured at calsaeus)
  • (Part of the test persons only) Hearing, waist circumference, blood pressure pulse wave analysis, cardiogram, ultrasound examination (neck ultrasonography), visceral fat, respiratory function
  • Blood test (blood cell count, biochemical examination, tumor markers, endocrine function test, antibodies, etc., amounting to an extremely detailed examination that exceeds the level of commercially available health examinations)
  • Questionnaires (contents vary according to test subject) (Cornell Medical Index, Health Practice Index, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, WHO-QOL26 or SF-36, WHO-Subjective Well-being Inventory, POMS, Mini-Mental State Examination and Wechsler Memory Scale-Revised, BDHQ-1-1-L, EQ-5D, Chalder Fatigue Scale, general 5-step subjective health assessment, NEO-FFI, Kyoto University NX Test and WAIS-III, Edinburg handedness inventory)
