The Department of Gastroenterology at Osaka University accepts and treats a wide range of diseases of the digestive tract, liver, biliary tract, and pancreas, from common digestive diseases to intractable rare diseases.
In order to fulfill its role as a university hospital, it provides highly specialized medical care based on the latest knowledge and advanced medical technology.
In addition, by working closely with the Department of Gastroenterological Surgery, the Department of Radiology, and the Department of Pathology, and by practicing team medicine (e.g., Cancer Board) that transcends the boundaries between medicine and surgery, we are able to provide optimal and seamless care for each individual patient.
liver disease
We provide multidisciplinary treatment for viral hepatitis, fatty liver, and liver cancer, including the latest drug therapy, local therapy, and catheterization.
pancreatobiliary disease
Early diagnosis (EUS-FNA/ERCP) and multidisciplinary treatment of pancreatic and biliary tract cancers are performed.
gastrointestinal disorder
We provide endoscopic treatment and drug therapy for esophageal cancer, gastric cancer, colorectal cancer, and functional gastrointestinal diseases.
IBD
We provide specialized diagnosis and treatment, including biologics, for ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease.
