Welcome to the web site of the Department of Neurological Diagnosis and Restoration. This department has been just established on April/1st/2019 to diagnose and restore brain functions. In addition to my medical degree as a neurosurgeon, I have a degree in Engineering from the Department of Engineering, Tokyo University with a focus on robotics, and also have extensive experience in product development as an engineer. Utilizing this broad experience, I have been working on research of medical engineering. I clarified neural processing in terms of cerebral oscillations using neuromagnetic recording and put them into clinical application as neurophysiological tests. Further constructively using engineering methodology, I was working on research and development of brain-machine interfaces, which restore brain functions.
Utilizing these outcomes of previous works, my mission at this department is research and development of neural informatics, modulation and restoration, finally aiming at their clinical application. For this mission, I collaborate with companies: RICOH, NIHON KODEN and Murata manufacturing.
Main research and development are as follows,

1)neuromagnetic recoding and analysis
2)fully-implantable wireless brain-machine interfaces and their related technologies
3) neural informatics, modulation and restoration related to 1) and 2).

We will work on not only neuroscience but also medical engineering to put them into clinical application as neurological diagnosis and restoration. If you are interested in our work, we will welcome you to participating!
