The IAEA Secretary Visits

On February 27, members of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) including Secretary-General Rafael Mariano Grossi visited the Graduate School of Medicine.

Since May 2016, the School and the IAEA have had an agreement to cooperate on training nuclear medicine staff and organizing international workshops. The partnership has also led  to consortium of Japanese universities and medical institutes for the training of similar staff in developing countries.

In this visit, the IAEA expressed its desire to continue the relationship in order to advance nuclear medicine and radiotherapies worldwide. The Graduate School of Medicine too is committed to the partnership and aims to spread its model for training staff globally.
