1.Impact of National Policies Promoting Appropriate Antibiotic Use on Outpatient Prescriptions and Hospitalizations for Bacterial Complications of Acute Respiratory Infections in Japan: An Interrupted Time-Series Analysis
National policies in Japan have promoted appropriate antibiotic use, but their safety across age groups remains unclear.
Our research group analyzed approximately 3 million patients’ claims data from fiscal years 2016 to 2019 to evaluate the impact of policies promoting appropriate antimicrobial use on outpatient antibiotic prescribing for non-bacterial acute respiratory infections (ARIs) and hospitalizations due to bacterial complications following ARIs. This analysis demonstrated the outcomes and safety of the policy.
2.Providing infectious disease education to a wide range of learners, both online and onsite.

【Tropical Infectious Disease Training Program at the Thai-Myanmar Border】
We conducted a field-based tropical infectious diseases training program at the Thailand–Myanmar border. At universities and medical facilities along the Thai–Myanmar border, trainees gain practical experience in treating acute febrile illnesses such as dengue and malaria, encephalitis and meningitis, and respiratory infections including tuberculosis. Trainees also have opportunities to provide medical care themselves and discuss cases with local infectious disease specialists.
【Planning and Organizing Seminars】
With the goals of strengthening the foundation of infectious disease practice and fostering clinicians aspiring to become infectious disease specialists, we organized seminars such as those listed below and provided educational opportunities to a large number of participants.
