In the international collaboration with Kyowa-kai Medical Corporation, as well as department of gastroenterology (Profs Yuichiro Doki and Hidetoshi Eguchi), Kitakaze et al. reviewed recent advances of the study of epithelial cell transformation and senescence, and then proposed a new concept, genome aging.
