修了要件と学位

本研究科の博士課程は、４年制の課程です。
修了には、本研究科博士課程に４年以上在学し、下記の授業科目について30単位以上（※）修得のうえ、かつ必要な研究指導を受け、博士学位論文の審査及び最終の試験に合格する必要があります。
（※生命医科学の社会実装プログラムを履修する学生は36単位、先導的量子ビーム応用卓越大学院プログラムを履修する学生は30.5単位）

修了者には、「博士（医学）」の学位が授与されます。

必修科目

【授業科目Ａ】（研究倫理及び安全を含む。）（10単位）　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　指導教授による研究指導科目。

【授業科目Ｂ】（10単位）
指導教授による研究指導科目。
※ 生命医科学の社会実装プログラムを履修する学生は、授業科目Bに代わり、プログラムが定める科目（8科目16単位）を履修。
※ 先導的量子ビーム応用卓越大学院プログラムを履修する学生は、授業科目Bに代わり、プログラムが定める科目（10.5単位）を履修。

【特別セミナー】（10単位）
指導教授による研究指導科目。
単位認定には他に、研究発表会および研究セミナーの出席が必要です。
履修した年度の2月中旬ごろまでに、指導教授へ各「 出席票兼発表内容要旨」を提出してください。
出席票は1～4年次に公聴した分、全てが有効です。

なお、研究科に届け出て承認を受けた1年を超える留学・海外派遣をしたことにより、必要枚数の全てを揃えることが困難な場合、その期間に応じて必要枚数に一定の配慮をいたします。事前に教務係に相談の上、｢ 研究発表会及び研究セミナー欠席届｣を提出してください。
※国内の研究機関、病院等に派遣されている場合は該当しません。

※特別セミナー単位認定必要枚数　　研究発表会8枚　研究セミナー12枚
特別セミナー単位認定時に、指導教員へ提出し、その後学生自身で保管し、単位修得退学時または自身の研究発表会申込み時（在学生）に、上記枚数をその他必要書類と併せて、教務係に提出すること。

研究指導計画書は、学位申請の「研究発表会申請」の際に、他申請書類と併せて教務係に提出すること。 （博士課程学位申請の手続きについては、 こちら。）

履修方法・単位認定及び指導指針　

1年次：授業科目Ａ
2年次：授業科目B （生命医科学の社会実装プログラム履修学生、先導的量子ビーム応用卓越大学院プログラム履修学生は上記の通り。）
3年次：特別セミナー

また、各科目とも通年科目であり、休学した年次については単位が付与されないため、翌年に再度履修することになります。

履修登録

授業科目Ａ・授業科目Ｂ・特別セミナーは、教務係で一括して履修登録をします。
生命医科学の社会実装プログラム、先導的量子ビーム応用卓越大学院プログラム等、上記以外の授業科目を履修する場合は、各自でKOANに登録してください。

KOAN へのログインには、大阪大学個人IDが必要です。

他の大学院及び外国の大学院において履修した授業科目の単位認定

在学中に所定の手続きによって他の大学院及び外国の大学院に派遣され、その大学院で修得した単位については、当該学生からの申請に基づき、単位認定の可否を審議します。
なお、修了に必要な単位に充当する場合は、10単位を超えないものとします。

早期修了

医学系研究科では、本研究科の博士課程在学中に優れた学術論文を公表した者、その他、論文以外に極めて著しい研究業績のあった者等、優れた研究業績を上げた学生に対し、早期修了の制度を設けています。
早期修了の時期は、3年次の3月（在学期間3年）と4年次の9月及び3月（在学期間3年以上4年未満）となります。

その他

■大阪大学医学部附属病院における医員（週40時間勤務者）の学生の取り扱いについて

博士課程の学生が、大阪大学医学部附属病院の医員（週40時間勤務）として勤務する場合、勤務可能期間は原則1年間となります。ただし、当該学生が研究を遂行する上で、医員勤務の継続が必要と所属教室が認めた場合に限り、更に1年間の勤務ができるものとします。

Graduation Requirements and Degrees

The doctoral program in this graduate school is a four-year program.

To graduate, students must be enrolled in the doctoral program for at least four years, earn 30 credits or more in the specified courses (*), receive necessary research guidance, pass the examination of the doctoral thesis, and pass the final examination.

(* Students enrolled in the Transdisciplinary Program for Biomedical Entrepreneurship and Innovation are required to earn 36 credits, and students enrolled in the Multidisciplinary PhD Program for Pioneering Quantum Beam Application are required to earn 30.5 credits.)

Upon completion, graduates will be awarded the degree of “Doctor of Philosophy in Medical Science.”

Required Courses

• Subject A (including the Research Ethics and Safety): 10 credits
  Research Guidance Course by the Supervising Professor.
• Subject B: 10 credits
  Research Guidance Course by the Supervising Professor.
  * Students enrolled in the “Transdisciplinary Program for Biomedical Entrepreneurship and Innovation” must take the subjects specified by the program (8 courses, 16 credits) instead of Subject B.
  * Students enrolled in the “Multidisciplinary PhD Program for Pioneering Quantum Beam Application” must take the subjects specified by the program (8 courses, 16 credits) instead of Subject B.
• Special Seminar: 10 credits
  Research Guidance Course by the Supervising Professor.
  For credit approval, attendance at dissertation defenses and research seminars is also required. Please submit the “Attendance and Summary (Form P06 or P07)”to your supervising professor by mid-February of the academic year in which you are enrolled. This applies to all dissertation defenses and research seminars attended from the 1^st to the 4^th year. 

  If it becomes difficult to collect all the required attendance sheets due to study abroad or overseas dispatch for more than one year, which has been reported to and approved by the graduate school, certain accommodations will be made according to the length of the absence. Please consult with the Educational Affairs Section in advance and submit the “Absence Notice for Dissertation Defense and Research Seminar. “.
  * This does not apply to dispatch to domestic research institutions or hospitals.

  [Required number of “Attendance and Summary” submissions for credit approval of the Special Seminar ]

  Submit 8 attendance sheets for dissertation defenses and 12 for research seminars to the supervising professor for credit approval during the Special Seminar certification. Keep these documents personally until they are required later, including the required number of 8 attendance sheets for dissertation defenses and 12 for research seminars, which must be submitted along with other necessary documents to the Educational Affairs Section at the time of credit acquisition or withdrawal from the program, or when applying for your own dissertation defense (for current students).

Research Instruction Plan should be submitted to the Educational Affairs Section along with other application documents when applying for the research dissertation defense for degree application. (For procedures regarding doctoral degree applications, click here )

■ Methods of Subject Registration, Credit Approval, and Supervision Guidelines

1^st year: Subject A
2^nd year: Subject B  (For students enrolled in the Transdisciplinary Program for Biomedical Entrepreneurship and Innovation and the Multidisciplinary PhD Program for Pioneering Quantum Beam Application, as stated above.)
3^rd year: Special Seminar

Additionally, all subjects are year-long. If a student takes a leave of absence during any academic year, no credits will be awarded for that year, and they will need to retake the subjects the following year.

■ Subject Registration

Subject A, Subject B, and the Special Seminar will be registered collectively by the Educational Affairs Section. For subjects other than these, such as those in the Transdisciplinary Program for Biomedical Entrepreneurship and Innovation and the Multidisciplinary PhD Program for Pioneering Quantum Beam Application, please register individually through KOAN.

Logging into KOAN requires your Osaka University personal ID.

■ Recognition of credits for subjects taken at other graduate schools or foreign universities

During enrollment, if a student is dispatched to another graduate school or foreign university through prescribed procedures and earns credits there, the approval of credit recognition will be deliberated based on the student’s application. Credits recognized for completion shall not exceed 10 credits.

■ Early Graduation

In the Graduate School of Medicine, a system for early completion is available for students who achieve outstanding academic publications during their doctoral program or demonstrate exceptionally remarkable research accomplishments other than publications. The early completion periods are March of the third year (for students enrolled for three years) and September and March of the fourth year (for students enrolled for more than three years but less than four years).

■ Handling of students who are physicians (working 40 hours per week) at Osaka University Hospital

If doctoral students work as physicians (working 40 hours per week) at Osaka University Hospital, the period of employment is generally limited to one year. However, if the student’s supervising professor acknowledges the necessity of continued physician duties for their research, an additional year of employment may be permitted.
