■早期修了(4年次9月及び3年次末)希望者
早期修了希望者は、仮申請に先立って、教務委員会による承認が必要です。以下を熟読し、申請書類をダウンロードのうえ申請してください。

・ 3年次末修了手続き ※申請期限:11月20日（土日祝日にあたる場合は、前日）

■学位論文審査コースによる学位取得希望者
学位論文審査コースによる学位取得には、仮申請に先立って、学位論文評価委員会、大学院教務委員会、博士課程委員会による承認が必要です。以下を熟読し、申請書類をダウンロードのうえ申請してください。

印刷をした申請書に加えて電子データの提出が必要なものは以下より提出をしてください。
提出フォーム利用には本学職員IDが必要です。提出フォームが開かない場合は、研究室担当者に代理提出を依頼するか、教務係までご連絡ください。

申請手順

課程博士学位取得は下記の1～4の順序に従って進行します。

学位論文の審査を受けるにあたっては、少なくとも主論文1編を提出することを要します。
主論文は、和文の場合は単名であること、欧文の場合は共著も認めますが、筆頭者であることを原則とします。

【1】学位授与仮申請:｢予備審査委員｣及び｢主査・副査｣の決定-博士号資格審査委員会

予備審査委員候補者及び主査・副査候補者について、申請者の指導教授からの推薦をもとに、主査1名及び副査2名(予備審査委員を兼ねる)を決定します。（ただし、副査については、指導教授から推薦された候補者以外から決定する場合もあります。)

【2】予備審査会

予備審査委員と日程調整を行い、予備審査会を実施してください。なお、予備審査会に合格しなければ、研究発表会に進むことがでないため、合格するまで予備審査会を行うこととなります。

【3】研究発表会 

予備審査会に合格後、研究発表会の申請をすることができます。研究発表会は公開により実施され、申請者は、学位申請論文についてのプレゼンテーションを行います。スケジュール調整は、主査、副査と行ってください。

◆原則オンラインでの開催となります。（主査の判断で対面開催可）

◆研究発表会を開催できる時間は、原則９時から17時までですが、オンラインで開催する場合は、主査の判断で学生が聴講していることを考慮し、早朝や深夜を除き、時間外に実施することを可能とします。スケジュールの枠は、発表13分、討論7分、交代の時間等予備10分、の計30分です。【毎時00分、30分スタートの１時間２枠】

◆主査・副査への研究発表会当日用審査資料提供が電子データになったことに伴い、研究発表会申請書類の提出形態や部数が変更されています。（「博士学位申請（課程博士）について（通知）」P7～8参照）

【4】本審査-医学博士課程委員会

研究発表会に合格すれば、学位申請することができます。
翌月以降の医学博士課程委員会において審査されます。

Doctoral Degree Application Procedure (For Course-based Doctorate)

Course-Based Doctorate (課程博士): Enrolling in a graduate program, completing the required coursework, passing the dissertation review, and obtaining a degree. This also applies to those who aim to obtain a degree within three years after ^※withdrawing upon completion of the required credits.

^※ Withdrawing upon completion of the required credits(単位修得退学): This refers to enrolling in the doctoral program of the graduate school for four years, receiving the necessary research guidance, earning the 30 credits required for completion, and then withdrawing.

■Early Graduation Applicants

Applicants wishing for early graduation (September of the 4^th year or the end of the 3^rd year) must obtain approval from the Graduate School Academic Affairs Committee prior to the provisional application. Please carefully read the following instructions, download the application forms, and proceed with the necessary procedures.

■Applicants seeking a degree via “Thesis Review Course”

For obtaining a degree via above-mentioned program, approval from the Dissertation Evaluation Committee, the Graduate School Academic Affairs Committee, and the Doctoral Program Committee is required prior to the provisional application. Please carefully read the following instructions, and if you wish to obtain the application forms, please contact the Educational Affairs Section via email.

*Option (B) applies to cases such as significant changes in thesis content, where the sub-examiner becomes a co-author of the main thesis, or where the sub-examiner retires.

(2) Preliminary Review Result Sheet
 Please bring this to the preliminary review and obtain the sub-examiner’s signature.

(3) PhD Dissertation Defense
 Must be submitted no later than two weeks before the dissertation defense (click here for the dissertation defense schedule).

(4) Final Review
 Submit the required documents no later than the Friday of the same week as the final dissertation defense date of that month.

How to Submit the Application Documents in data

In addition to the original application forms, documents that require electronic data submission should be submitted via the Forms link below. If you are unable to access the link, please ask the department secretary to submit on your behalf or contact the academic affairs office.

Steps of the Application Procedure

The process for obtaining a doctoral degree follows the steps 1 to 4 below.

To have your doctoral dissertation reviewed, you must submit at least one main thesis.
The main thesis must be single authored if written in Japanese. If written in English, co-authorship is allowed, but you must be the first author.

*For more details, please refer to the ” Guidelines for Doctoral Degree Application (Course-based Doctorate)”.

(1) Provisional Application for Degree Award: Decision of “Preliminary Reviewers” and “Main Examiner and Sub-examiners” – PhD Qualification Committee

Based on the recommendation from the applicant’s professor, the PhD Qualification committee will decide main examiner and two sub-examiners (who also serve as preliminary reviewers) from the proposed candidates. (However, sub-examiners may be selected from candidates other than those recommended by the professor.)

(2) Preliminary Review

Coordinate the schedule with the preliminary reviewers and hold the preliminary review meeting. If you do not pass the preliminary review, you cannot proceed to the dissertation defense, so you will need to continue holding the preliminary review meetings until you pass.

(3) Dissertation Defense 

After passing the preliminary review, you can apply for the dissertation defense. The defense is held publicly, and the applicant will present their doctoral dissertation. Schedule adjustments should be made with the main and sub-examiners.

<Changes from the 2026 Academic Year>
For more details, please refer to “Guidelines for Doctoral Degree Application (Course-based Doctorate),” page 9.

◆As a general rule, PhD Dissertation Defenses will be conducted online. However, the Main Examiner may opt for in-person sessions at their discretion.

◆The PhD Dissertation Defenses are generally held between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM. However, for online sessions, the Main Examiner may consider the availability of students attending the session and allow scheduling outside of the stated hours, excluding early morning and late-night hours. Each session will follow a 30-minute schedule allocated as follows:

【Presentation: 13 minutes】【Discussion: 7 minutes】【Transition/Buffer time: 10 minutes】

　[Two sessions per hour, starting at :00 and :30]

◆With the transition to providing examination materials for the Main Examiner and Sub-Examiners electronically on the day of the research presentation, the submission format and number of copies for the PhD Dissertation Defense application documents have been updated. For further details, refer to “Guidelines for Doctoral Degree Application (Course-based Doctorate),” pages 7–9.

(4) Final Review – Doctoral Program Committee

After passing the dissertation defense, you can apply for the degree. The review will be conducted by the Doctoral Program Committee in the following month or later.
